About NCD ThinPATH Software
NCD ThinPATH is a family of software
that provides enhanced functionality and flexibility for Microsoft Windows
2000 Server and Microsoft® Windows® NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition
from NCD ThinSTAR® Windows-based terminals and desktop PCs.
About NCD ThinPATH Plus v2.1
This version is a new release of
ThinPATH Plus that incorporates a number of major enhancements:
- Audio support for applications running on Windows 2000 servers
- Support for a local disk drive attached to the ThinSTAR parallel port - Micro Solutions Backpack Diskette Drive, Model 14350 (http://www.micro-solutions.com/)
- Access to local PC disk drives from server sessions running on Windows 2000 Server
- Enhanced printing for better server scalability
Licensing for NCD ThinPATH Plus
Each product package contains a
license key, software on CD, and user documentation. The license
key included in each package specifies the number of clients that can use
the software on NCD ThinSTAR Windows-based Terminals or PCs.
Seven different product packages are available:
- Five-user license package
- Ten-user license package
- Fifty-user license package
- Flexible license packages at four levels for up to 2000+ users
The ThinPATH flexible license
is an alternative in software licensing that allows the customer to specify
the exact number of licenses desired and to receive a single license key
per installation. The customer places an order with the reseller for the
desired number of licenses. The larger the purchase, the larger the
available discount. Each order is individually manufactured and drop
shipped from NCD to the customer. Please contact your NCD reseller
representative if you have any additional questions.
Upgrading From Previous Versions
No separate upgrade products from
version 2.07 are available. Customers who purchased version 2.07
qualify for a free upgrade by submitting the upgrade form in the 2.07 product.
Customers who are using the promotional version of 2.07 distributed by the NCD web server must purchase new licenses.
Obtaining Evaluation Products
NCD will make an evaluation version
of the new release available on the NCD Web site at www.ncd.com.
Customers must register prior to downloading the software and obtaining
an evaluation key. Evaluation keys expire in approximately 30 days
after receipt. Customers who need to extend their evaluation must
contact an NCD sales representative for an extension.
Customers can obtain technical support during the 30-day evaluation period by contacting NCD. Complete information on reaching support is included in the product documentation.
Prerequisite Products
Customers must have installed the
NCD ThinSTAR Operating Software product (part number TSW-2.20 or later)
in order to load NCD ThinPATH Plus Version 2.1.
Support Programs
Initial purchase of NCD ThinPATH
software products includes thirty (30) days of unlimited technical support
from NCD, beginning at the time of purchase. Additional license purchases
do not include thirty days of technical support. Information regarding
the purchase of extended technical support programs will follow the release
of these products.
NCD's standard warranty replaces defective material that is reported within 90 days of purchase.
